How Can Receiving TEFL Accreditation Help You Land Your Dream Job?

Have ever wanted to travel to places like China, Ghana, or Chile and improve the lives of others? With a TEFL Accreditation, you can give others the gift of learning the English language. Because English is an international language that is often used in worldwide business transactions and media, the lives of others will be improved through higher paying career and better social opportunities as they learn English. The World TEFL Accreditation (WTEFLAC) has established a strict code of practice for organizations and course instructors who Teach English as a Foreign Language (TEFL). Although accreditation is not required at every English teaching site around the world, you are sure to land your dream job in your dream destination by becoming an accredited English teacher. Your TEFL Accreditation will prove to future employers that you have experience and training in the field, you understand and abide by exceptional teaching practices, and you understand the process of course assessment and evaluation.
Your accreditation will show future employers that you have experience and training in teaching English as a foreign language. The WTEFLAC code of practice states that all organizations or course instructors should have at least three years of practical experience in teaching English as a foreign language in order to receive accreditation. If you have experience in the field already, make it know by becoming accredited. Even if you do not yet have years of experience in teaching English as a foreign language, show your future employer that you have been trained in proper course advertising and promotion. You can also show your future employer that you have received relevant training the selection and admission of students. Show off your experience by becoming certified.
By earning a TEFL Accreditation, you can also show future employers that you understand and abide by exceptional teaching practices. This means that you have been trained to follow clear methodological principles and you have experience in peer-to-peer teaching practices. It also means that you have experience in developing and implementing course materials that are clear, well laid out, and that provide students with a solid foundation of knowledge. Organizations that uphold these same standards will be impressed with your exceptional teaching practices and they will be more likely to hire you over someone without these same standards or experience.
Becoming accredited also helps you land a better job teaching English as a foreign language because it shows that you understand the process of course assessment and evaluation. Programs that do not assess their courses throughout the teaching process and after each session do not have the capability to evolve and improve. Show future employers that you are a forward thinker and that you will strive to continually improve their teaching practices through providing student feedback and conducting frequent program assessments.

  1. Students considering enrollment in the TEFL Institute of Chicago (www.teflinstitute.com) which CLAIMS to be accredited by WTEFLAC should proceed with greatest caution. Careful research on-line will reveal countless negative reviews on this organization. (YELP, www.glassdoor.com, www.goOverseas.com, www.facebook.com/TheTruthAboutTEFLInstitute). Fraudulent business practices are obviously the hallmark of this organization.

Individuals who HAVE been defrauded by TEFL Institute should IMMEDIATELY contact their Credit Card company or issuing bank/credit union and DISPUTE the charges made to one's credit card. The key word is DISPUTE, and it is your legal right. FRAUD or failure to deliver promised services are LEGITIMATE reasons for initiating this FREE dispute resolution process which is guaranteed by Federal Law. While the investigation is underway, charges are reversed in your favour.

DO NOT register or pay money to TEFL Institute without doing your homework. You along with hundreds of students (and dozens of unpaid teachers) will regret your decision!
